Manali?

Kasauli?

Sangla dude!

What’s that?

umm.. a valley.

of what?

of mountains, bimbo....arghh!

oh, so it is also an option where we can go?

yes, it is in Himachal.

Does it have a river? Does it snow there? Is it as cold as four degrees? Will it make me feel like I am in the middle of nowhere still I am surrounded by a lot of mountains and goats and sheep and …….??????

Yes!

Let’s go Sanglaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know you must be irritated reading that piece, so was I., In reality, the decision took four days and 3 nights in total. It was 3.30 am, in the car, engine roaring when I finally took the decision of going to Sangla Valley and not Manali for our Durga puja vacation.

here we go! 5 days and 4 nights in our hands, Sangla valley in Himachal Pradesh seemed to be the best option for us.

Tips for Sangla Valley-

  1. Isolated as compared to Manali

  2. No traffic

  3. No litter

  4. You actually find the peace you look for in the mountains

  5. A new place to explore

No, you might not know where you are going to stay. You might find a hotel online but that can be expensive or not with many reviews. So make sure you reach Sangla at day time to figure out your stay. We took a halt in Narkanda and Rampur at luxurious hotels but with great deals *lucky us*.

The ride to Sangla is pretty scary and beautiful at the same time so make sure you only travel during the day time. Do not travel at night. you never know what might happen. I mean you might hit a goat for god's sake. make sure your tank is full too.

What I packed for the trip -

To be frank, this trip had the lightest bag pack I have ever packed.

  • PJs and full sleeve tees for the night

  • a skirt

  • a pair of pants

  • a bomber jacket

  • a summer blazer

  • fishnet stockings

  • a pair of sports shoes

  • a hoodie and a sweater

  • woolen and summer socks

Yeah, that’s it. The rest was just mix-matching. For the night times, I obviously preferred warm PJs and my red hoodie. During the day time, have a look below.
