The Beautiful Silence

A deserted soul in the darkness all alone,

No speech to be heard, no companion to console!

The rustle of leaves, the whisper of air,

Say words, I oft try to hear.

The glowing moon lends its ear,

Still in the beautiful silence I say I have no peer….

The world around us is a beautiful place to dwell in. Myriads of sounds and loads of voices attract us. May it be the voice of our parents or the gossips of our friends, the music on the radio or the show on the television; we are all drawn towards what we hear. We all love this chirpiness and liveliness around us. But once left alone why do we get so low? The absence of life around us disappoints us. We run towards television and laptops. Their absence haunts us. We hate the silence and wish to run away from it. The simple question that strikes to me is why do we abhor silence, why do we loathe loneliness?

Silence is not a gift of Satan. It is but an opportunity to talk to those whom we often avoid in the hush-hush of life. The primary of them is we ourselves. I define silence beautiful because I consider it the ideal time to nourish our friendship with ourselves. We begin our day with our roommates, spend the day with our friends and at work and finally end it with our family. Where is the moment for ourselves?

Lie down on your couch or sit under the glory of the stars and close your eyes. You will meet a person who will let you know what it is that you want and how it is that you can get it. He will judge you on where you went amiss and inform you how to mend your errors. We run to our closest fellas for help and never realize that Silence has the solutions to even the questions that your best resources can’t answer. It goggles through you and gets the best out of you. One must agonize its importance and spend time with it.

Besides ourselves silence also introduces us to the life around us. When I sit back on the sea-side or in my garden amongst the refreshing flowers, a joy fills me in. The tiredness of the complete day vanishes away. The instance acquaints us with the life that lives without cribbing about anything. The lush green leaves breath like us but have no complains about anything. They stand there silently offering their love to us. The warmth the fresh flowers shower, the glow the stars offer and the humming the sea waves render are just to remind us every second that love has no limits. In a herd or in solitude, we are always blessed with the love of nature.

Hate your enemies and not your friends. Silence and loneliness may not be your best friends but are not your enemies either. They introduce you to your real self, they give you a friend that shall never part away from you nor shall ever cheat on you. It will but stand hard with you in your golden days as well as your days of darkness. It will calm your strained senses and preach you how to love all. So never run away from silence but experience it at times because it has a beauty that you will love to feel and cherish.
