Time Slice

“I will try to find time.”, “Oh! I am sorry. I don’t have time.” These are a few pet statements people usually are bound to say nowadays. Why not! After all it’s a busy life with loads of work to do and myriads of people to handle but limited time for all this. We are supposed to slice time according to work but nowadays time is slicing our life. May it be small school-going child or a young college student, a working professional or a multimillionaire businessman, life has become hectic for everyone. In this busy schedule if we have to find time for something important then we immediately shave off the time that must have perhaps belonged to our family. Justified? Well may be, may be not!

When I was a little girl life for me meant my parents and my sisters, education for me was a way to make my parents proud of me, hunger for me was mumma’s food and new toys for me were papa’s gifts, best friends for me were my sisters. In short my world was my family. Doesn’t thinking about this bring a smile on our faces and tears in our eyes. This is the best emotion to feel, cherishing the love with a smile and missing the happiness in our tears. Life has gained pace with our age but not our relations.

We have moved from our hometowns to the metropolitan cities and very well gelled up in the routine out here. Monday to Friday passes in work, Saturday is to rest and Sunday is to go out and have fun. Today in this busy life we may not have time but always steal out time to hang out with our friends, to watch movies and to sleep for long. We call our parents up once in a week on Saturdays narrating them every busy day we have experienced, every little pain we have borne. Our sweetheart parents motivate us, cheer us up and we hang up. That’s it for the week. Now they will have to wait for the next Saturday to listen to their little child and try to share their sufferings.

It’s not that love for our parents has died in us. It’s just that we have lost the realization that someone somewhere is alone, passing time thinking every moment about us. They are perfect at cooking delicious dishes but still they take a simple vegetable and chapatti in dinner just because they hate the empty chairs at the dining table. They still love to surprise others with a gift but the gifts find place in the wardrobe since there’s no one to scream in joy after discovering it. We spend every night talking to our boyfriends and girlfriends but fail to find time to ring our parents. We save money to gift our pals with branded gifts but forget to inquire if our parents have sufficient to fetch their needs.

Nothing is to be blamed but us. We may fall short of time or run out of money but will never run short of love until our parents are with us. Spare little time from your busy schedule and spend it on your parents. This will not only give them joy and satisfaction but also give you a relaxation that you can gift someone, the most precious gift that even the richest millionaire cannot buy them.
